SmartDuck Privacy Policy

SmartDuck is a browser extension that lowers the volume of ads on YouTube and restores it when the ad ends. This policy explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your information.

What we collect

Nothing. SmartDuck does not collect any personal information, browsing history, or usage data. We have no analytics, no telemetry, and no way to identify you.

What the extension stores

SmartDuck saves two settings so it can remember your preferences between sessions:

• Whether the ad-ducking feature is turned on or off.
• The ducking level you choose (how much the volume is lowered during ads).

These settings are stored using your browser's own extension storage. They stay in your browser, sync only through your own browser account if you have sync enabled, and are never sent to us or anyone else.

Permissions

SmartDuck requests only the minimum permissions needed to work:

• Storage — to remember your on/off setting and ducking level.
• Access to YouTube pages — so the extension can detect when an ad is playing and adjust the player volume on that page.

The extension only acts on YouTube pages. It does not read, monitor, or interact with any other website.

Third parties

SmartDuck does not use any third-party services, libraries that phone home, advertising networks, or external servers. Nothing about your activity leaves your browser.

Children's privacy

SmartDuck does not collect data from anyone, including children. It is a simple volume tool with no data collection of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If the extension's behavior ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
